Probably the most surprisingly good act I've seen live this year was Celebration. I saw them at the Casbah a few months ago, opening for someone else (can't even remember who), and was blown away.They were so good live. I was caught up in their sound, and by the end I was in love with the singer, and I wanted to go up to her and tell her "I know what you mean, I also want to go so far that you can't turn back and there's no one else around."If you get a chance, see them play live, in a tiny confined space where her voice goes right into you, and the bass is so loud it vibrates your ribcage. Or take the cd into your car and crank it way the fuck up. Don't listen to it quietly, please. You need to let it hook in deep.Get in the barrel and have them nail it shut, then drift down the river, then into the rapids and then over the falls, tumbling, and then plunge into the deep darkness, and let the weight and pressure close in around you, and then open your eyes and keep going.
