Can anyone tell me about this artist and his current gender status? I just heard his album yesterday for the first time. Very beautiful and haunting cabaret music, with a guest vocal by Rufus Wainright. I could find on All Music Guide is that he's a man who looks like Meg White of the White Stripes, sounds like Nina Simone, and worshipped Boy George as a kid.
The lyrics and song titles such as "Today I Am a boy" and "My Lady Story" and "I Am a Bird Now" (think about it) make me wonder if he plans on becoming a she any time soon. Wonder what the procedure would do to his singing voice?

I'm not sure that Antony has any questions about his own sexuality. I never thought that "For Today I Boy", was ever a song about wanting. Sure the lyrics are a bit ambiguous, but they don't speak to me of longing, but maybe more about appreciation for the female, and celebrating the facts of today. Today he is a boy.
