I've recently come across this band. The feeling of something new didn't, at first, grace my ears. But then, I listened intently, and, well, this band has something. I'm not very religious. But, recently, my tastes for artist that don't outright come out and say they are religious but have the context of religious virtues hidden in their songs are, well, what I've been listening to recently. Sufjan Stevens is a perfect example. His song Casmir Pulanski Day is a genius account of someone going through cancer, and maybe doubting the God that he or she believes in. I don't believe in God but i find this song to be the standout track on an already incredible album because of the context. To know what one must go through to fight the idea that they've always believe in due to the fact that the one they love is going through this horrible disease is an incredible idea for a song. He does this with light lyrics and light feeling toward the disease. Anyways. Danielson has been good to me these couple of weeks. I hope to hear more good things from this man.
