The American Idol Onslaught Continues

In my inbox comes news from the All Music Guide that Chris Daughtry of AI fame has released an album. Expecting to see a scathing review of the K-Fed variety, I am instead greeted with:"During his stint on American Idol this year Chris Daughtry became known for his aching sincerity, his earnest expression, his lack of laughter and, above all, his allegiance to the anthemic, well-meaning post-grunge of Live and Fuel. All of this made him a distinctive candidate on the show, but a question lingered over his performances: could a rocker like this make a credible rock album after being on AmIdol? The answer is, surprisingly, yes. Forming a band called DAUGHTRY (albiet after the recording of his debut), Daughtry plies familiar modern rock territory, but he does it well, offering more hooks and better songs than many of his breed."My question is, do I now have to take this guy seriously? Please be No.
