WE DO THE MASHED POTATO AND THE FUNKY CHICKEN

Monday Morning Ya Ya's

Posted over 2 years ago
Thanksgiving leftovers aren't the only thing that was rocking the house over the weekend here. The Dirtbombs' double-disc collection of singles, rarities, and covers If You Don't Already Have a Look is responsible for keeping my blood pumping when the tryptophan coma threatened to take over, and I fully intend to keep up the pace heading back into the workweek. First, a little number to start your Monday off with a kick...

... and then my belated contribution to Sunday covers (y'all know my weakness for Elliott Smith, and I was pleasantly surprised when I first learned the DBs had covered this track on disc 2).

Enjoy ... more garagey goodness in comments!

  4. Dale says Oh yeah, that Elliot Smith cover kicked things off nicely. The Dirtbombs are another of those many bands that I've heard, liked, and forgotten before I could get their stuff. I'd best remedy that.

  9. fistula spume says Sounded really great. They're familiar but I don't think I've heard an album by them. I'll have to research. Thanks for the post. Goodmusiconly is not just a clever name.

  10. goodmusiconly says Hey Mike, danke - hope you had a good one. Working on it now, my friend! Fisty, thank you sir! The DBs are known for doing albums that are in a different style each time ... they range from garage rock, to punk, to their own spin on r&B/soul, and their next one will be a departure as well. Great stuff...
