WHERE THE HOKEY POKEY "IS" WHAT IT'S ALL ABOUT

Celebrate my birthday in Seattle

Posted over 2 years ago
Attention Seattle-area moggers ... just got word that Earlimart will be playing a live, *FREE*, in-store show at Easy Street Records (20 Mercer St.) on 8/24 at 7pm. I've been a fan of Earlimart for a while, but 'fraid I can't make it there myself as I'll be whooping it up at a local wine bar in Denver with a few of my closest friends (which sadly, do not include Aaron Espinoza :P). But I was able to catch their live webcast yesterday on NPR's Morning Becomes Eclectic, and they sounded great. Their latest album, Mentor Tormentor, was just released yesterday (I posted a track "here":http://mog.com/goodmusiconly/blog_post/92952 previously), and "tour dates":http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.viewprofile&friendID=7326931 have been announced. But unless you're fortunate enough to win MOG's Treasure Island Music Festival giveaway next month - which includes, among other more well-knowns, Earlimart - you'd be hard pressed to see them for a better price. Will one of you please go for me?

  5. Mike the Knife says Can I celebrate your birthday by a swimming pool in the Hollywood Hills at dusk, cold cerveza in hand, gazing over the lights of Los Angeles as they begin to twinkle into view? (Best I can do on such short notice, Erin. Happy b-day.)

  6. goodmusiconly says Jeff - lucky you, the Treasure Island weekend sounds fun. You might check out the artist's lounge for Earlimart - I'm sure I've posted other tracks (and there's another track further down in the post that I linked to above). While you're at the festival try to catch Film School as well ... good stuff. Shayna, thanks doll ... I'll toast one to you at the show! Mike - I can't think of any better way for you to celebrate my birthday than surrounded by bathing beauties and a frosty bottle of tasty suds ... just wish on one of those twinkling stars for me ... hmmm, I'd like to be ten years younger - you think it'll come true? Ah well, I'll settle for a nice glass o' red and a sunny day. Thanks for the wishes :)

  7. Mike the Knife says You're welcome, Erin. Not sure what the guest list will be like for the cocktail party in question, but, if it's warm enough, I figure that there will be a little frolicking in the pool. (Not on my part, of course. Chlorine doesn't mix well with beer...)

  8. goodmusiconly says It doesn't? maybe you should switch to a gin and tonic in the pool ... always works for me ;)
