What do you do if you're a UK band and you come to the US to find a band already there with pretty much the exact same name? Well, if you're Brakes, and you find yourself in the home of The Brakes, you just triple up your name to brakesbrakesbrakes for the US domestic scene. (I actually think brakesbrakesbrakes conveys the punk energy and edge in the band's sound better than just plain Brakes anyway.)If you are dismayed or confused by UK bands who lose their British accents when they sing, fear not! Eamon Hamilton's vocals are clearly and identifiably accented, and thus refreshingly reminiscent of the grand masters of the British punk invasion of the 70's.Remember in my last post, I mentioned free tracks at eMusic? Well, this is the kind of thing you find when you go digging around there. brakesbrakesbrakes has just released a new album, _The Beatific Visions_, which is getting excellent reviews. Best part? It's on "eMusic":http://www.emusic.com/album/brakesbrakesbrakes-The-Beatific-Visions-MP3-Download/11033795.html. And that's where I got this song, so now you can all go over there and grab it, and the rest of the album. (I'm going to do the same, though I find myself one download short of being able to grab all the remaining songs. I'll have to save one track for next month.)Note: I tagged this for "Brakes" because there is no MOG page for brakesbrakesbrakes.
