Anita Baker’s voice makes me smile practically every time I hear it. Today was one of those mornings where her singing felt downright therapeutic.
From what I have read, most of the “Compositions” album was recorded live in the studio with only a few overdubs.
Compassionate lyrics, a voice that nearly defines the word “Soulful”. Yes, this one is absolutely a winner. This is a woman who took a decade off near the height of her career so she could be with her family. That’s an uncommon move in the music industry to say the least, but Anita IS uncommon. I think she’s amazing.
