Yesterdays' art....

Posted almost 5 years ago
I was buzy painting and listening to TUNES yesterday........I love mixes of songs, some of my favorites are when its all mixed up.....really, if I love a song, I like it chopped and screwed and blended....makes it more interesting....LOVE that stereolab did this.....It was really the only reason I got it....What do you think? Do you prefer the original or multiple versions?

  2. Hermes says It depends on the track. Sometimes I like the original more than the remix, sometimes it's vice versa and sometimes both are at eye level. Some remixers do fantastic jobs, some just miss the point. Then there are the guys, that mix it all up. Osymysos "slowerer mix":http://www.osymyso.com/index.html , ("fistula introduced me to this guy":http://mog.com/fistula_spume/blog_post/81397) is an example for a hilarious mix. I nearly shit my pants as the second Haleluja began - he made a den in it .. haha. If you like really fucked up, ass-kicking "music smashers" I can recommend you DJ Punc-Roc. I'll post something of him later on. There was a time, when I liked him more, but he really kicks ass ;). "Light my fire":http://mog.com/Hermes/blog_post/77166 is an example, where both versions are at eye level.

  3. Rawkkiddoh says I prefer a mix if its well done like Hermes said. I like it the most when an artist has multiple people remix their songs and puts it out again. Loved it when Bloc Party did that with Silent Alarm
