You gotta hear this one. Sonya & Shuie took the raw acoustic demo of the Stills song "The Doctor Will See You Now", from Just Roll Tape CD, and added instruments and vocals to it and it sounds bloody fantastic!! So good that Stills should release it as a finished song!
Here's what Sonya & Shuie say about it:
PLEASE READ- ALL WILL BE REVEALED
Right, at the risk of incurring the wrath of Stills fans, the ire of the man himself and stern letters from Eyewall Records, Rhino Entertainment AND Warner Music this is an expanded, overdubbed version of the song featured on the 'Just Roll Tape' album. And we kept Stills' singing and acoustic guitar.
We love this song and Stills never seems to have done anything with it. We always wondered what he might have done with it and what it would have sounded like with a fuller sound. We put Stills' original audio into Cool Edit, because Shuie is lazy and didn't want to have to sing it in for a preliminary sketch with some riffs and harmonies. The intention was to record it completely on our own. It just didn't turn out that way. We kept Stills on the recording (in an eerie journey to the feeling the Fireballs must have had when overdubbing Buddy Holly's Apartment Tapes) and sincerely hope he, and you, can forgive our chutzpah.
Anyhoo, bass was added, plus a 12 string acoustic, a twangy lead guitar and another electric treated with a Leslie effect. Stills' vocals and guitar were in mono and the guitar is pretty crunchy and boldly in the red in places. It's also a bit loud compared with the vocal but the vocal had to be kept up good and strong and that's why the acoustic is so prominent in the mix. Shuie's vocal is a composite of three takes- cos he's not that swell a singer. Sonya's vocal is one take. She is swell.
Hope you enjoy this speculative version of how 'The Doctor Will See You Now' might have sounded had Stills vacated Johnny's Garden for an afternoon and took a ride up the M1 to Yorkshire, sung for ten minutes, then left a short Scot and a crafty Cockney to finish his song.

Sounds super!
Thanks! I know that Sonya and Shuie appreciate your comment! Sonya tells me that Joe Vitale Jr. (he mixed the Stills JRT CD) shared this with his Dad Joe Vitale Sr. who is currently on tour with CSN. So Stills himself could very well have heard this.
Joe Vitale Jr. was kind enough to also leave a great comment on YouTube for the video!
