Director of Sales and Publicity for Sundazed, Tim Livingston, gave the Guruv1 an exclusive interview regarding Sundazed release of Incense and Peppermints - the LP.
Here is some of what we said:
why are you releasing I&P? Incense and Peppermints has always been a favorite album of ours - we've been wanting to properly issue it for decades!
vinyl is hot these days (and this is going to be great), but is there any consideration for a cd? perhaps with alternate takes/mono/unreleased? Perhaps at some point - for now, we very much wanted to get this album out in its original form, both sonically and artistically.
are there plans to release Wake Up . . . It's Tomorrow? Perhaps at some point!
will it be released on audiophile/high-definition vinyl? Yes, hi-def vinyl - that is the only kind of vinyl that we do here at Sundazed.
did you use the original masters? was there any remastering or other changes? Original masters, sonically true to the sound of the original LP. No other reissues of this material have been true to the original '67 pressing!
i am assuming that you are releasing the complete first lp and not the "hits" CD that was called I&P and released by mca ?? Yes, the first album.
will you use the original packaging? Yes
will it have international release at the usual outlets? Yes
did you A/B it against the original pressing? is the sound improved? Meticulous mastering, to perfectly mirror the fantastic sound of the original vinyl pressing, which was a fantastic sounding LP!
is there a specific date in july? pre-order?
July 28, 2009, Pre-Order will be available on our website (www.sundazed.com) this week.
Apparently Strawberry Alarm Clock are in the studio now recording new and old songs for a new release.
