I'm about to move to Cambodia which is located in South East Asia, on the sount-western part of the Indocina Peninsula. It is bordered by Thaialand on the west and north-west, by Lao on the north, by Vietnam on the east and south-east.

That is short information for anyone who 've no idea where Cambodia is. I just got job at there but Cambodia is quite new for me even if it is Thailand's neighbour. Someone who had been there told me it looks like Thailand 20 years ago...OMG!

So, i'm kinda nervous. Now, i need to know every detail about Cambodia. Currency, Population, or whatever which is useful for relocation. Everything looks good so far. Only one thing i'm concern after found out that the official language, spoken by 95% of population is Khmer. French tends to be understood than English. Oh, What a country? Who's still used French? Have i heard French songs? - that kinda of questions pop up in my head. I could not figure out so far.

I might get lost in translation like this guy.

And, listen song from French band like Phoenix. Will see what's going on.

Hey you! Which town are you moving to? Listen, everyone speaks English, don't worry about it! And to me, the language didn't seem that different from Thai, I'm sure it won't take you long to pick up the basics! The people seemed very nice to me.

The only thing I complained about while I was there was that the food is not spicy!!! I asked why they did not serve chilies and they said they send them all to Thailand! Haha! So if you love your chilies better take some with you!

But yes - tell me which town/city, that will tell me a lot! Another mogger is living in Phenom Phen right now, she's really nice!

I had no problems with the food. It is a bit boring compared to Thai food, like I said, bring your own chilies, haha! BUT....you can get some yummy foreign food in Phenom Phen, if you like some foreign food, thanks to the French!

Check out mogger "poebegone", she's pretty cool, and just moved to Phenom about a month or 2 ago!

lotsa good farang food in Phnom Penh. try any of Commes a la Maison, Pop di Giorgio, Shiva Shakti, The Shop & Freebird & anywhere at Street 240, Cafe Fresco & FCC, Java Cafe. nightlife - try Poontoon, Elsewhere, Green Vespa, many other bars.

am all wined out tonight but will send something more substantial later. for starters tho', US Dollar is all the currency you need. people only deal in Riel (the national currency) for loose change less than $1. weather's hot & dry. and the city's very small, you can drive once around for two hours.

Gere, glad ya dig. all it really takes is to get into their groove. if you'd like to do some shopping, try Russian Market for cheap-but-great; Ambray and Jasmine for the more splurgey; Sentosa Silk and the crafts shop in front of Wat Phnom for touristy stuff.

Yeah, i got loads of stuffs from Russian Market. but it was not cheap as i thought. Some stuffs cost around 180$...that price is for tourist, i guess. I think i can get along with Cambodia so far.
