New Feldy and a Double Headliner
So we meet again, Mog. I thought I should write a little something about the show I went to last night, since I haven't been to many this year. Or, recently. First off... I managed to download a lot of new songs from Aberfeldy, and it's all amazing. I love them more every day. Definitely one of my top three bands now. Which is a feat. Can't wait for the new album... "Do Whatever Turns You On". Anyways... after much strife and confusion, my pal Maddie and I were able to get tickets to see Goo Goo Dolls and Counting Crows at Shoreline. They were of course lawn seats, but I actually prefer that these days. Unless the seats are really good. In which case... you can still go up to the grass. So, we missed the openers... and within about a half hour of getting there, the Dolls went on. I've never seen them, and don't know much of their music... but Maddie is a hardcore fan. I guess she wasn't so pleased with their sets, as most of the tunes were off their latest album "Let Love In". I enjoyed the set, overall, though Johnny Rzeznik's songs weren't my favorite. I liked the other guy... Ricky, I think his name was. More of a pop punk sound... which I normally wouldn't dig so much, but this worked with their style. The Crows came on after a reasonably long set change... and opened with Recovering the Satallites, if I'm not mistaken. My favorite song was definitely "Rain King", which they stretched out for quite a while. Adam is such a performer, and the band is so tight... it's just a magical experience watching them, and really listening to what the music has to say. I really only knew three or four songs very well, but this made me want to listen to them a lot more than I have been lately. It was definitely the best I've seen them... out of four times now, I think. Made me want to go to more shows soon. I need to get a job, so I can buy tickets! And still afford to feed my comedy obsession. Anyways, that's a decent recap... I should catch up on some sleep. Hope all is well.Rock on,GD
