... and speaking of weddings...

I'm on a blogging roll today. Don't mind the subject, I promise it has meaning.
I went to friends Justin and Claire's wedding on Saturday, and 'Hell Yes' for the music. I knew it was going to be a good time when Claire walked down the aisle to Sigur Ros.
It got better when it became apparent that the couple had chosen the entire wedding playlist, rather than leaving it up to the DJ. I would never leave it up to the DJ unless it was my friend Drew. Seriously. (Drewfonts to you Moggers). And along with a list of songs that are to play, there would be a specific list of songs that were NOT to be even uttered in our presence. yes. And because of this, I shall be having a children-free wedding. No electric slide requests for you!
Back to the music... It started with everyone eating while listening to Blonde Redhead, then it moved some great oldies and then some Zeppelin (nice), to finish off with Flaming Lips, MGMT and the topper of all icings: The final song was We're in This Together Now, Nine Inch Nails. HOLY effing crap, you guys rock. Way to tell people the party is over while having a great last dance.
Love it!

i wish i could say the same about a wedding i'm in this weekend, but i had been hounding my friend about what their "song" was going to be and she hadn't one in mind. i know if i were getting married (ever?), wedding playlists would be like 50% of the fun for me! i'm just crossing my fingers i won't hear any 'cotton eye joe'....but it's not looking so good, ha!
