Siouxsie & the Banshees

Posted over 4 years ago
Everywhere I go these days I keep running into Siouxie songs, clips, as if the universe is trying to get my attention. Then again, there's a new Siouxsie record coming out, so maybe a PR firm is trying to get my attention. But in any case, it's made me rediscover one of my favorite bands. Reminding me of I saw them live on the Boston Common years ago, or riding the submway with Siouxie in my walkman (that's an old school i-pod for you kids :)Enjoy!

  1. Dale says Watching that clip of "Israel" reminds me how great a bassist Steve Severin is, and how little notice he gets.

  2. snakama says Just last week, I had a similar Siouxsie experience, Ipod on shuffle during my commute home, it's been probably a year since I've listened to any Sioux, and I just kept thinking how brilliant they are..

  4. Neill says Remember seeing them years ago when Siouxsie got over excited, fell over and broke her leg on stage. The next night she was carried out, leg in plaster, plonked on a stool and proceeded to run through the full set. Hard as nails! Amy Winehouse, tired and emotional? LOL!

  5. gakker says Watching Israel I couldn't help but think of Winona Ryder's character in Beetlejuice.

  6. garrick says Dale - one of your recent posts actually contributed to my experiencing the "Siouxsie is Everywhere" phenomenon. And yeah, I forgot just how good the musicianship was - they were a true band. If there was a celebrity deathmatch between Sioux and Winehouse, I'd bet on Siouxsie.
