Rare Beach Boys Track Featuring Dennis Wilson Surfaces on New Compilation

The new Beach Boys compilation (Summer Love Songs) from Capitol includes a long out of print song written and sung by Dennis Wilson called Fallin' in Love. The song is interesting in that it foreshadows his proper solo album (Pacific Ocean Blue), which was re-released with bonus tracks to great fanfare in 2008. The word is that the song is an outtake from the Wildflower sessions. The strings arrangement sounds like a more recent add-on, but the vocals are clear.

I am kind of a Dennis Wilson freak around this time of year, and am always interested in hearing stuff of his I have not heard before. There probably isn't much left in the vaults especially after the POB deluxe release, but you never know.

There are also some new stereo remixes of Beach Boys favorites on this year's compilation, most notably Don't Worry Baby, but this is the real "news" in this release.
