WHERE THE HOKEY POKEY "IS" WHAT IT'S ALL ABOUT

I had the great fortune to be able to catch Joseph Arthur live on Thursday night. He was performing as part of Canadian Music Week here in Toronto. He ended up playing for about 90 minutes and it was a solo set. Completely blew my mind ... he has such an amazing, evocative voice. He also used a lot of loops and delay effects to round out the sound which was interesting. The clincher was that he played There Is A Light That Never Goes Out and dedicated it to Elliott Smith. To say that I'm eagerly anticipating his next show on May 25 with the Lonely Astronauts would be an understatement.
