Shameless love of Brit lad rock

OK, so yes, this is total lad/lout rock from the UK but it's sooooo good ... here's a link to the video for the single "Empire": I'm not sure they are that well known in Canada or the U.S. They released their first album in 2004 which I quite liked but it received mixed reviews ... very 90s Manchester influenced so if you're into that, you will probably like that too. But I saw them on tour when they were supporting that album based on how amazing their live shows were supposed to be and I was not disappointed ... they believe that they are the best rock band in the world and that confidence totally shows through. They will no doubt be touring North America to support this release and if you can get tickets I would definitely go. If you love this, help spread the word!

    funkybarb says Absolutely nothing, in my opinion :-) ... I love it too but it's not everyone's cup of tea so thought I should give fair warning to those that don't share the love. Can't wait for the new album to come out ... September 12 is the release date. If you want to hear more tracks off the album, Zane Lowe's show on BBC Radio 1 (which you can get a live stream of) is playing tracks from the album all this week. It's on from 2 - 4 PM EST. Zane's show is just generally great for a sampling of new Brit music too.

    loveburnbrighter says I really liked their first album too - I am surprised about the mixed reviews. My copy is FBI protected or whatever so I cant upload it on my iTunes which is maddening as I live and die by my iPod nowadays...anyway, I didnt realize there was a second album coming out - I will definitely pick it up. Thanks for the tip!
