Ain't no one can sing a pop song like Aaron Neville.
The second-youngest of the four Neville Brothers, Aaron had two huge hits (Don't Take Away My Heaven and Don't Fall Apart On Me Tonight) from 1993's the Grand Tour, the second of his modern-day solo records for A&M, but all of his records are filled with nuggets that never come anywhere close to the airwaves, most pulled from a wide and eclectic songbook, and this track from that record, My Brother, My Brother is no different. This could have been a big hit if someone had programmed it for radio play.

My old 7th Ward friend Marcus Watts and I used to speculate on what an album of all Marvin Gaye covers done by Aaron Neville might sound like, and this track may give you a good inkling.
My time in residence in New Orleans spanned 18 years (and still occasionally counting), so I'll revisit this topic often as I continue to add some selections that illustrate the many branches of the Neville Family tree.
