Dear hearts, we had a rough start

Posted almost 4 years ago

As I was listening to this song I couldn't help but be taken back to the summer of '07 when we had drivin 16 hours to Seattle, WA just to see Murder City Devils reunite after 5 long years. The Capital Hill Block Party was flourishing! As I hear the intro to "Dear Hearts" I get that familiar tingly feeling when the moment you've been waiting for is just about to happen. Much to my disappointment, the one the only, Spencer Moody drunkenly rants through the chorus completely destroying my favorite lyrics. An over whelming sense of "WHAT THE SHIZ", comes over me. Why the hell did I drive 16 hours to be let down like this?

I brushed it off and started to rock out again, and then something amazing happened! They announced that they would be playing another show the following night at the Show Box, the same venue where they had filmed their "final" show. What, 10 bucks?!? I'm there!

Talk about redemption, these guys nailed it! It was the type of show you know you'll remember forever. Packed like sardines, surrounded by sweaty bodies and not a care in the world. Absolute bliss. Thank you Spencer Moody, for getting it right the second time around.

Ahh, redemption. Glad the lads got it right the second time around. You never what's happened to a band it hits the stage. Perhaps they were just all a little cranky from traveling.
