This break through album included many mouth watering originals such as Badfish, Ebin, Date Rape and, of course, 40 oz to freedom. But this classic addition to your collection also contains many a cover song and here are some links to bands you may know or maybe an intro to bands you should know! So check 'em out kiddies and expand those horizons.
Smoke 2 Joints: originally written by Chris Kay and Michael Kay of the band The Toyes and released in 1983

We're Only Gonna Die: from Bad Religion's debut album "How Could Hell be Any Worse?" which was released in 1982.

54-46 That's My Number: originally performed by The Toots & The Maytals released way back in 1968. Sublime most definitely put their own spin on this one by mixing it into "Ball and Chain"
Scarlet Begonias: composed and written by Jerry Garcia and Robert Hunter. Maybe you've heard of the Grateful Dead? www.dead.net Hope: a song from "Milo Goes to College", by the Descendants released in 1982. http://www.descendentsonline.com/ Rivers of Babylon: Boney M originally sang this in the 70's although, the more familiar Bob Marley also covers this emotional song. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_ovJo9WgEEg KRS-One: Jamaican-American Rapper, KRS-One www.krs-one.com/ Now you can see where this band with an "original sound" got their inspiration

like the post, cant deny the great taste of that band. Have to just add that though Boney M released it in the late 70s, Rivers Of Babylon was written by the Melodians (it appeared on the soundtrack to The Harder They Come in the early 70s). Sublime's cover of it is damned good, have you heard Snuff's version?
Good to know, thanks for feed back. I'll have to check out the snuff's cover for sure....on my way ;)
