Brave Combo played at Charlie DeCoursey's wedding reception in downtown Kansas City, MO last Saturday night. My jaw dropped when I found out moments before they took the stage in front of old stained glass panels at the former Kansas City club on Baltimore. My friend Rob Loud mentioned that a polka outfit from Texas was the entertainment that night but I didn't have an inkling that it was the grammy-winning band that we played for a palate cleanser on KJHK in the '80s, or the same band that played David Byrne's wedding according to wikipedia. They did a killer cover of The Seeds' "Pushin' Too Hard". Plus free drinks. I went home happy.
