the Sleepy Jackson

I don't know how i stumbled onto the Sleepy Jackson, well actually my buddy gave me a bunch of interesting bands that i should check out and 'the sleepy jackson' was one of them.... call it kismat or serendipitous but this band is absolutely great...i am ashamed to say i don't know much about them, i think the Sleepy Jackson comprise of just one member or a few and are hailed from the land down under Perth, Australia, nevertheless with its sickly sweet instrumental tune and almost euphoric melodies...makes you dream of floating on beds made of clouds....hence the name "the Sleepy Jackson" enjoy!

interpol is one of my favorite bands...i got to see them live in Denver's Fillmore auditorium, i like the interesting themes they explore in their song, such as threesome...one of my favorite song "Leif Erickson" explores the idea of falling for an individual while engaged in a threesome... the lyrics are just superb...enjoy!

i don't know why i am so drawn to this song by Deathcab for cutie, maybe because it is such a viciasous song...i sure would like to hear some prespective on what others think this song mean...for my part its about a relationship built on a physcial basis..the lyrics are amazing...enjoy

when i first listened to band of horses i thought wow they sound so similar to My Morning Jacket...which was a good thing because i loved My Morning Jacket,but then again their something more uniqe about band of horses that set them apart from My Morning Jacket, a certain indescrible twist that sets , maybe its seperates the two band, maybe its the sultry voice of benjamin bridwell that seems to lure you to some sweet place, whatever it is this band was amazing live at the download festival in mass... one song in particular though that did me in ...definitly captured me and lit me up and that song was funeral...what a superb song...it generated a certain buzz in me that i had to scope them out on you tube...although the video shown below of the band performing on letterman is rather old, because benjamin (lead singer) is currently sporting a sweet beard ...still a good performance.

i don't know if any one has seen this "interview" of modest mouse it is simply hilarious, that is one thing i love about this band is there ability to have a great sense of humor...definitely a change of pace from when Isaac is performing live, such intensity, it is simply dynamic...a whole lot of anger and passion...i recommend watching modest mouse live...it truly made me a huge fan!
