Shatner 2.0?

Posted over 3 years ago
I love William Shatner, but Hasselhoff is gaining my affection as well. His tears during the AI5 finale also get him closer to my heart. Also, the music video as absurdist theater is a master stroke (although definitely unintentional).

  1. spaceling says For nostalgia, you may wish to pick up Night Rider (The Stu Phillips Scores) (2005). You'll have to imagine Hasselhoff friving KITT around, but the music takes you there. :)

  2. fontgoddess says Someday I should watch Night Rider. I've never had cable and currently don't have a television, so it may be a while, though.

  3. ciaran says The best thing about Knight Rider is the sample from the theme tune that Busta Rhymes used in a storming party hip-hop track called Turn It Up/Fire It Up. I used to have it on 12" vinyl but someone stole it when I was DJing at a party once! :(

  4. Anonymous says Tell me you've heard Shatner's "Has Been.":http://www.shatnerhasbeen.com/ Genius. And I really don't use that word lightly. But the subtleties of his self-mocking are really something to behold. Produced and co-written with Ben Folds.

  5. fontgoddess says Oh, Has Been is a favorite of mine. I haven't watched that much Star Trek, so my acquaintance with Shatner is mostly through Has Been and Boston Legal.
