I found these guys on the myspace. They consist of: Jeff Massey(guitar/vocals), Tod Bowers(Bass), and Joe Winters(Drums). They pump out a Bluesy -rock sound, I like it. They've also played with Umphrey's McGee, The Drive-by Truckers, and Keller Williams, which is quite cool. By the way , their upcoming album is being produced by Marc Ford. Check em out.

ROSE HILL DRIVE

Rose Hill Drive is yet another example of the sheer power of a three-piece band, and this thunderin' threesome out of Colorado can sure pack a punch. Consisting Jacob Sproul (vocals/bass), Daniel Sproul (guitar), and drummer Nate Barnes, these guys blast out a loud but refined rock n' roll sound. I can definitely "dig it." The song featured on the video is titled "Cross the Line," it has a good intro that's subtle enough, but they really start groovin' around the 4:30 mark. I had the privelege of seeing these guys open for The Who back in March of last year, and they were very good. It was pretty cool to see those middle-aged "die hard who fans" headbanging to some good ol' hard rock. Check these guys out, I believe they're worth the listen.

"The Allman Brothers Experience"

It was a nice Sunday afternoon, a perfect day for a concert. I left out of my town and headed down to Virginia Beach, the traffic wasn't very bad surprisingly. When we arrived at the amphitheater, we got our parking spot and just chilled for a while, just hanging out on our lawn chairs. As the bicycle cops did their rounds one finally made its way over to us and told us that we couldn't tailgate, so we had to pack up the chairs and food. After that we just headed inside and got our tickets. We had purchased lawn tickets because the lawn seats tend to be more comfortable and wide open, and if the opener(s) sucks you can sleep. As we arrived to the lawn area we found out that it was closed, and they were seating EVERYONE in seats. I suppose this was because there wasn't a very high attendance to the concert, which was disappointing because everyone should listen to The Allman Brothers. But, we found our seats and began to watch the first opener, J.J. Grey and MOFRO. They had a bluesy and jazzy sound, and they sounded good. After them were The Drive-by Truckers, which had a very appealing sound to me, but their sound could've been better. It just didn't seem like the sound was a clear and crisp as it could be, but they were still good. After about a thirty minute "intermission" between the drive-by truckers, The Allman Brothers finally entered the stage. They preceded to play for about two and a half hours, closing with an encore of "One Way Out," personally one of my favorites by them. I was awed by the talent of Warren Haynes and Derek Trucks, they are the guitar gods of the present time for sure. Warren is just so universal and Derek can play slide like no one I've ever seen. One word can describe it, AWESOME. After the concert I arrived home fulfilled, and proud that I finally got to experience The Allman Brothers, and I plan to see them again in the future.
