haha well when i was in korea, i was blaring my Maximo Park and my buddy told me to turn it down! i mean i was rocking out having a great time just chilling on my cot and well... i was like? how can you say that? this rocks, and he was like, no it doesnt its just noise! and well i felt hurt... even slightly offended... i admit they are not my favorite... but they are catchy and i like them... is it normal to feel hurt and offended when someone says that your music sucks? or am i just a sissy and a pansy? (which i would believe...)

My Trusted MOGs
Classic moment along these lines (conversation is paraphrased, but this is the gist of it): I was listening to the Boredoms at a pretty average volume in my college dormroom with the door propped open, and my next-door neighbor (whom I could not stand) walked in and said, "What is this?" I told him, and he said, "I hate it when people think something is genius just because it's weird." I said, "Well, I love it... they're my favorite band actually..." and he said, as if not even responding, "A 4 year old could make this." I tried to reply, and he left the room.
Needless to say, I was fuming. Not that this was an ordinary person (he was a bit wacko actually), but ... I was pretty upset by this.
So, it is definitely normal. It's also something to get over. But it's normal.
