I feel like everyone has either heard this or is going to hear this. Marnie Stern is a rockin noisefest of math proportions. If you like Melt Banana, Deerhoof, noise, or lightning quick guitar stabs then I think you will like this. I've been listening to it all week. It's kind of mystical, kind of I don't know what. Definitely sounds chaotic but it's so controlled. Her guitar works at lightening quick speeds. The drummer is Zach Hill (Hella). He does a really great job balancing out the hypnotic guitar work of Marnie. This album blows me away. It's like I heard new rock. I mean really new. So fresh. I don't listen to rock all the time but every once in a while something like this will drop in my lap. I love it. It's hypnotic, strangely melodic, it jerks you into a trance and won't let go. Check her out if you haven't already. I give it 10 out of 12 penguins.
