MOG MOG

BECAUSE THE WEB MOSTLY SUCKS

Artist:
Album:

I originally did a post of videos for Cornelius's last album Sensuous here http://mog.com/fistula_spume/blog_post/45328. There's a new one out for the track "Omstart" and it's visually delicious. It has a valium-like effect on the brain but it's still great. There's this multi layered voice part in the song that reminds me of 10CC's "I'm Not In Love".

Whatever this is I want this drug. Man, I dig his stuff.

For reals. It was a pretty sweet album. All of the videos are mind blowing. I'm hoping they release a DVD for it.

I only have Phantasma (?) but really need to get some more. BTW Orko? Why did they always have to destroy cool cartoons with lame side kicks? It always pissed me off because it was obviously one more way to prolong Prince Adam (I might be wrong about this, but if that's his name, I have no idea why I remember that and not relatives names.) from turning into He-Man.

Remember Snarf? Man I wanted to kick that whiny cat like thing.

I liked Orko. He was the only one (besides Man At Arms I think) who knew Adam's secret. I was feeling Orko today. I liked how wacky and mysterious he was. He was the court fool. Trollans are ok in my book. He's way better than that goblin guy that was his replacement in the He-Man movie. My wife says that my brain is a huge repository for useless information. I can never remember anything important. I didn't like Snarf either. That cat can suck it. Fantasma is an amazing album. I just got his first one recently. It sounds more like his first band Flipper's Guitar. You can see a progression in his style from album to album. I recommend all of them even though they're pretty different. If you liked Fantasma I'd check out the album 69/96. It's a little more rockin and acid housey but still great.

Hopefully my cache of useless info will make me money some day. I'll keep you in mind as a team mate when I try out for The World Series of Pop Culture.

Thanks for the recommendation.

I think you can audition online, and then you have to go to an in person one near you. I need to check that out, though. I'm itchin to win this one.

Dude! I so want to be on that show. I wish they had a home edition. I am chock full of useless pop culture knowledge. Keep me in mind!

Not that keen on the music in the vid BUT the vid itself is incredible. I was mesmerized. I saw they had a live clip posted on youtube from Coachella which they sound much better in:

Thanks Contra. I needed something like that.

August It's definitely not the best song on the album but all the videos are top notch. Looks like they were all taken down. I like the song they're playing on that Coachella vid but it's more electronic on the album. Fun to hear it live. Check out this one. I hadn't seen it either.

That's cool too but not as cool as the one you posted above. I love animation like that. It blows my mind, especially when you think about how much time it takes to do claymation stuff like that.

I love claymation too. I wish you could see the other videos but looks like YouTube took every single one down. :(

That is such a beautiful video. I love the texture, the subtle shades of white, the flux in the milky matrix. I won't even go into the mise en abyme of the drop and spontaneous creation (invisible tap?). Koichiro Tsujikawa has become my new obsession thanks to Cornelius and to you, Fistul. Ta!

PS: Orko rules -- I like how his spells never work out the way they should.

If the Beach Boys had all become monks and moved to Thailand but still kept doing acid....

Ivy you hit the hail on the ned there. Truer words couldn't have been typed.

First of all...standing ovation on that video...steller.

Second...is this the same Cornelius?

Artist: Cornelius Album: DJ-Kicks Track: Drop (Kings Of Convenience Remix)

Yup. Same Cornelius. Originally from his last album Point. He's really quite diverse album to album.
