MOG MOG

BECAUSE THE WEB MOSTLY SUCKS

(96)

I stopped by Little Rock the day after Thanksgiving and had lunch with my lovely wife and went to a used record store. That place was a mess. Piles of stuff everywhere. I went through the used CD's. I got all the way through to the letter H and I stopped looking. A lot of time had passed. I found 3 cd's and decided to stop. I put one back as I am budgeting lately. I kept Brazilian Girls _Talk To La Bomb_ and Fila Brazilla's _Luck Be A Weirdo Tonight_. I haven't touched the Brazilian Girl's one yet but I've been enjoying Fila Brazilla. It's not the greatest listen but it's not half bad. I have quite a few songs and remixes by them but I never listened to an album before. Now that I've got this one I want to get _Power Clown_ as it's supposed to be better. _Luck Be A Weirdo Tonight_ came out in 1997. I have two favorites from this album that I wanted to post. I have to admit that I was really drawn to this cd by the title and the album cover. Works out sometimes.

I have "Black Market Gardening", which is pretty smooth and pretty good. The first one of these doesn't really rock my boat, too "industrial" but that might be due to the late hour and my mood...

Here's one of my favourites from Black Market Gardening. Love it as a soundtrack when driving in the city, it makes me feel like my life is a fascinating movie... which in reality it's only _most_ of the time ;)

(The song title should be to your satisfaction!)

Yes the song title is to my liking. I have Blubber Plinth off of that album. I like this song more. I like the first track I posted cause that voice is just so weird. I usually gravitate to the stranger tracks on an album. I like to imagine I'm in a movie as well. Mine is movie is usually a boring tale of going to get groceries with a killer beat. Thanks for posting the song Micki!

Yeah, I got that impression ;D

This is all very fisty-sounding - in the best possible way.

I can't help it micki. I'm just drawn that way. Or maybe I just draw that way. I can't remember. ;)

Senor Sharpened Metal I thank you. Is there a fisty sound? If so I wish there was a radio station that played the format. I'd never listen to anything else!

Fine stuff, Fisty. Although I've never actually heard Fila Brazilia before, I do have a CD somewhere of cuts by other artistes that they chose from a series called "Another Late Night." (Four bucks at a used CD place.) You're in for a treat with that Brazilian Girls album.

Oh cool. I think I'm going to listen to that Brazilian Girls album today. I keep forgeting that I got it. I have a few tracks from the Another Late Night series. I think just a couple though. What I heard I liked.

A lucky weirdo find in the "B" section of that used record store. I've never owned a regular disc of theirs - just had cuts on compilations. I may need to rectify that. (Why does rectify always sound like kind of a painful thing?)

Rectify sounds like your bestowing grody qualities to something. Yeah I was quite pleased with the album. I've liked songs I've heard on comps but it was never enough to make me pick up an album. Glad I got it now.

I have a couple of Fila Brazilia albums: A Touch of Cloth from '99, and Mess, from '96. Both excellent, and well worth chasing up, perhaps a bit moodier & less up tempo than these tracks.

I was going to post a track, but damn Mog is having a spack attack again. Seems every time I go to post anything lately, it's not happy. Don't know how you have the patience to get as much up as you manage to Sam.

Yeah it's good stuff. I want some of the older albums. They put out quite a bit. I think this was their 7th one by 1997. Quantity isn't always quality though.

ok, now - that's good for the mind!

Gives me hope that Bob Dylan will get together with Os Mutantes at my neighborhood tiki lounge.
