MOG MOG

BECAUSE THE WEB MOSTLY SUCKS

Artist:

WOW! Give it up for Ory everyone. Ory has single-handedly made Vikki Carr the Top Artist This Month. Bigger than M.I.A. and Bob Dylan. I admire Ory's devotion to this artist. I had no idea who Vikki Carr was until today. I went out and listened to a few tracks and some aren't that bad. I like the older stuff better. Not quite my taste but you gotta give it to Ory for being one hell of a fan with a lot of dedication to share. Ory posts other music as well but the level of Vikki Carr posts is amazing. I just thought I would give a shout out. Ory you've only been on Mog for 22 days now and you've definitely made an impact. Kudos to you!

I know, Ory kind of single handedly blew my whole mog experiment out of the water with his dedication and single task of just posting lots of Vicki Carr clips. I thought I was seeing the belly of the beast through trying to get Bat for Lashes onto the charts outta nowhere (we did push her to #8, though). I mean I did figure out how the mog ranking works a little bit through my work, but Ory came at it from a different approach and just comitted to her and posted and sent Ms. Carr straight up to #1! Pretty amazing!

I totally was thinking of you and the experiment when I noticed this. You got me to notice Bat for Lashes. I think the key here is that with Bat for Lashes I don't know if there was a way you could've done 40 posts about her. Isn't it amazing. I'm flabbergasted.

There were a couple days I motivated a couple people to do a post on her, and I think we moved her like 10 spots. When I couldn't post, I would play one of her songs, or try to hit it in Hype Machine, but no, I don't think I have 40 posts in me about anyone, accept maybe Harry Nilsson. Ory obviously had the most effective means to an end (if having Ms. Carr at #1 was his purpose all along - I'd like to think he just truly likes her, that's all, no MO). Perhaps he'll comment and we'll get a little more info on him (other than his dedication to Vikki Carr!).

I think it's his love and wanting to share that drove her to number 1. Nothing wrong with that. I don't know if I could do that about any artist that not everyone would know about. I hope he posts too!

VIKKI CARR # 1 I am also thrilled that Ory has helped to make the world more aware of Vikki Carr. I do think some credit needs to be given to Carrfan since he's the webmaster and PR for Vikki Carr, and from the post also assisted or worked closely with ORY. But I bet Carrfan would agree, he is a very kind and as long as Vikki is noticed once again would be honored to see the work produced by Ory. This is a fun group with Vikki, I am sure she is proud too. SleezyJo, Txboots, also have simulated the postings. Great job everyone!

I thought I was having a 60's flashback hearing Vikki Carr again, but after going to her website http://www.vikkicarr.net , this woman is as active as the other mainstream performers. I do recommend her website for music buffs, I congratulate ORY, CARRFAN, TXBOOTS, CARRFAN4EVER and SLEEZYJO for making me lite a nice slow burnin' bud, hear some great 60's and 70's tunes, and well together page for Vikki Carr fans.

Hello, Thank you for all your kind words. I must let you all know, I am thrilled to be a part of Vikki Carr's fan club and web site. I am Carrfan's official assistant both here and on her official website working closely with him. He (Vito) is the one who found this site and shared his thoughts about posting here and getting more people to get to know who she is.

Vikki started singing in the 60's with a very young fan group who are still members of her fan club. During her earlier days she was a substitute fill in for any of the Rat Pack members who could not perform for one reason or another. Due to her international fans and her recent recordings she is still getting new younger fans and keeping her loyal timers still interested in her music. She has been in Command Performances for each President of the United States and royalty in other countries since her very beginning. On a personal note she sent me an copy of her version of the Ave Maria to be played at my mother funeral last year and cares about all of her fans deeply.

As the international fans started to become members of her fan club she has been recording more adn more in other languages and has been very busy . Many folks are saying she is making a comeback but truth is she never left, she was in other countries sharing her music and is now back at home doing her thing here now again. She has three new cds recordings in the works and between sold out concerts she has very little time to relax now days. I meet her in the early 80's and have kept close to her since.

I hope this helps you all to understand more about me and my dedication to this grreat woman.

ORY

PS Dont be scared...it's not just a fan club but a FUN CLUB!!!!

CONGRATULATIONS ORY! YOU DID IT!! There is no one more dedicated to Vikki than you and Vito (and a bunch of other fan club members to be honest!) Your hard work and dedication has paid off!

I have been a club member since 1972 and have been to hundreds of concerts and am very excited that Vikki will return to my hometown of Brownsville, Tx for a 2 hour concert on November 2nd.

Not only is Vikki a wonderful singer but she cares deeply for her fans. When my dear mother passed away, Vikki's two versions of Ave Maria played continuously at the funeral home. Mother's last concert was on Oct. 1, 2005 when we saw Vikki perform a 90 minute outdoor concert. It was AWESOME!!

Please feel free to visit www.vikkicarr.net often. It is constantly being updated. Check out the fan reviews. There is something for everyone!

Thank you for your kind words. And thank you for acknowledging ORY. He is a hard worker and totally dedicated to Vikki because he truly loves and admires her.

This is why I love MOG. Where else can Italian Disco / Metal Machine Music / Klezmer / Indie Rock freaks rub virtual elbows with Vikki Carr fans. The MOG-O-Sphere is beautiful. Good on, ya, Ory. And thanks to Fistula for bringing this to our attention.

she did a great job singing "the silencer"s main theme for the movie of the same title. i had no idea she kept singing still. and she looks pretty hot for a woman of her age... she must be close to 70?

I agree with ORY - Vikki Carr is wonderful! She simply cannot sing a bad song! I could listen to her sing the Yellow Pages and still give her a standing ovation in the end! I love her music old and new and I can't wait for more music from her in the future! There is no one in this world like Vikki Carr!
