MOG MOG

BECAUSE THE WEB MOSTLY SUCKS

I've had this song stuck in my head all week. Please leave my head Tracey Ullman. Why do random things get stuck in my head? It happens every day!

If you're going to succumb to this song - and I can think of worse fates - also check out Kirsty MacColl's original.

Kirsty MacColl is singing background vocals on this version.

I've got that one. I hear this one because a while back I watched about 4 days worth of Tracey Takes On... and that has this song at the beginning of every episode. Every once in a while this song works its way out of the back of my brain and fights to stay on top.

My second-favourite "surprise cameo at the end of a video" - and my favourite is allegedly not actually one.

That is, Tom Baker has denied that it's him at the end of the video for Don't Pay the Ferryman...

Great song! Here's another version: Ben Gibbard, anyone?

LOL! OK, so I don't know what I did wrong, but I kinda like that version too. Sorry 'bout that, folks!

Hell yeah. That's what I'm talkin bout. That's freakin heelarious. Oh god I wanted the song out of my head. This is ten kinds of worse. So funny. Thanks Amber. I needed that.

Stiff Records just re-released Tracey's "You Broke My Heart In 17 Places", with bonusy tracks n' stuff. It's awesome. She was actually Stiff's highest charting singles act. Go figure!

I love Paul McCartney showing up in that video.

My pleasure! Just think, that's the version you can listen to when pressed for time....and I thought Ben already had a high voice. Gibbard on helium!

Good info Lady Miss Ian. I love Paul being on there too. I read somewhere that she said that was one of the highlights of her life.

Amber I think all musicians should do it on helium at least once. You could call it Chipmunks Bop.

I'e had the same double-speed play effect when posting tracks i edited in Audacity - tracks that play fine on my computer, or if i put them on my web-hosting account and post a link.

I've begun to suspect it's because Audacity uses a 32-bit encoding algorithm by default, and MOG's mp3 post mechanism expects 16-bit (which is, after all, standard).

I plan to experiment.

Interesting that the vid is available, as the song is not on iTunes or anywhere else. And I only wanted this song. So...I found out that it's actually a song of Kirsty MacColl, and bought HER original. I love the song, but could care less about Tracey. I started to watch a comedy special of hers on HBO, and she started with this song. Fine, then the bad comedy began and I was gone in about 5 minutes. Ah well, at least she launched the Simpsons.

C'mon, fist. Admit it. The only reason you were hearing this song in your head was Starbuck's worldwide McCartney Brain-Control Program, wherein they coerce everyone into buying Paul's new album by feeding images of him into our head's via microwave. Fixating on the Tracey Ullman song was just a side effect of his appearance in her video - IN YOUR MIND!!!
