Cats rule!

Posted over 4 years ago
This is my cat Simon aka Lord of the Fleas aka Count Chunkula aka Simonius Chunk aka Plumple Chubskins. I wanted to give a shout out to him because he is the coolest in the world. He's a goofy dog trapped in a cat's body. He'll run with you around the house, he likes to plop in front of you so you can rub his belly, he comes to claps and whistles... Just like a dog. If a dog had a teacup lions body. Well a lion right now as my wife has him shaved to look like one. I was against this at first but I'm fine with it now. Simon is currently 23 pounds and he's more muscle and bone than chubby. His fur accounts for most of his weight during the winter. Typically our neighbors meet him before we meet them and have a thousand stories to tell. We've had total strangers go out of their to tell us how much they love him and we don't know them at all. He's the best. I also wanted to drop some Takako Minekawa cat songs on you. She's cute and her music is cute. Sometimes creepy but cute. Check her out. Her albums are pretty solid.

  1. fistula spume says Before you play this song please note if you have animals in the room. This song makes my cat think that he's surrounded by kittens and meows at them accordingly. ~zMFfs0lNwk7.mp3~

  3. The Serenity Vortex says lol!! Cats rule. I like dogs too, but I like that fact that cats come and go as they please. They can also sense paranormal stuff too, they are wiser than they let on. Fistula dude, where DO you find these freaking tracks? Your music radar picks up some crazy frequencies, that my friend is a (good) fact! lol.

  8. fistula spume says @The Boy Flood: I like dogs too but I'm more in tune with cats. I cast my nets wide when it comes to music. My listening habits are slightly schizophrenic. @GooGoomuc: Thanks. Has anyone seen "Mr. Lee's Cat Cam":http://www.mr-lee-catcam.de/? It's pretty funny.

  10. moovyphreak says I have an aunt who has 19-20 cats, but they don't all live inside the house. She's raised several of them from infancy... she even fed them with little tiny baby bottles.

  14. Hermes says I'm more a kind of dogs guy. And additionally I'm alergic to cats - but only slightly. But as your cat is more a kind of dog, I guess, I'd like him. Crazy tunes! Very nice.

  15. fistula spume says @moovyphreak: That's amazing. @thisandroidheart: totally @LadyC: Yes I have. It's the craziest thing ever. I think I saw it on Cute Overload a while back. @Hermes: Too bad about the cat allergies. My cat has swayed many dog owners but cuteness has no sway on itching and sneezing. Glad you liked the tunes.

  19. Rawkkiddoh says Was going to get one, then found out the wife was pregnant so it is on hold for right now. We were going to adopt an American Stafford Terrier, and we were supposed to pick her up when we got back from canada. While there, my wife took the test and we had to wait it out. I would love to have a cat, but my wife is allergic. I get my cat fix with the neighbors who comes over anytime she see's me out in the yard.

  20. fistula spume says My wife is allergic too but her love of cats overpowers her allergies. She's not deathly allergic but she does get irritated. Wow that American Stafford Terrier is a sturdy looking dog. The puppies are cute. Maybe you'll have a pet someday.

  21. Rawkkiddoh says I am sure I will, there are a lot of adoption places here in MN for dogs that have been neglected. I have kept in contact with the woman who was going to give us ours, just gotta wait until the little guy gets a little bigger and more gentle with animals

  22. I am says Slightly schizophrenic, there's an understatement. Our cat Bingo aka Furcules is one of the most people freindly animals I have ever had the pleasure of knowing. I think it was all of the love and attention my son Alex showered on him when he was a kitten. I just love that kitty. Fletcher aka Fat Ass is an English Springer Spaniel. He is my dog. Rescued from an abusive home 10 years ago, he has become my favorite foot warmer (he is doing his job wonderfully as I am typing this) and jogging buddy. I shudder to think of the inevitable day when he won't be with me. Great post as always Sam. Thanks.

  30. kat3260 says What a great post!!! Your Simon sounds a lot like my kitty cat, Kosmo. He, too, has dog-like tendencies (including fetch!). I've never met a cat who responds to his name like Kosmo, either. Sometimes I have to call him 20 times, but he always comes to me hehe.
    Permalink posted 06/14/2007
  31. fistula spume says Boy comments are a big guessing game. Cosmo looks like a cool cat kat3260. I wish Simon would fetch. He'll just chase something down and half play with it for a few minutes. My mom had a cat that would fetch but that was it's only redeeming quality.

  32. fistula spume says Oh how fun. Kittens are fun. There's a good chance the cat could be named Ryo-Ohki with that combo. Good luck!
    Permalink posted 06/14/2007
  33. darmuzz says My daughter says Ryo-Ookii would mean powerful dragon; is that what you were thinking? I was thinking about Kuroneko-sama (the cat from Trigun, means Lord Black Cat) or Asobi Neko (means playful cat and also slyly refers to band Asobi Seksu, ha!) But she gets to choose.
