More love for Sweden
Posted almost 5 years ago

I wanted to point out some cool Swedish music and places to download. More importantly to bring your attention to "Erik de Vahl":http://www.erikdevahl.com/. I found a few of his tracks on a site a while back that I can't find anymore. He makes this very pleasant sort of music. It's chaotic and shimmery. He recently released an album called "Oh My Spine":http://www.erikdevahl.com/ohmyspine/index.html with only 100 pressed copies and those have sold out within a week. I like him a bunch. He's on the label "Service":http://www.srvice.com/ out of Sweden. Labelmates include Embassy and Jens Lekman. Click on artists on that site and they each have MP3's to download. On another note Service has "9 albums on emusic":http://www.emusic.com/browse/l/b/-dbm/b/0-0/1400134323/0.html. Most of this music is stuck between indypop and experimental music. Another site to check out is the Swedish label "Friendly Noise":http://www.friendlynoise.se/. Since January of this year they are highlighting artists on an "MP3 page":http://www.friendlynoise.se/mp3-releases. Different sounding stuff there. Finally, I said it on at least 3 other posts in the past, go check out the awesome label "Labrador":http://www.labrador.se/. Their "sounds page":http://www.labrador.se/sounds.php3 has several downloads. It seems there are half as many as when I first discovered it. Get them before they're gone. Also, the site offers up free MP3's for new albums and it looks like the front page has a free EP to download. Great stuff. I really enjoy Swedish music and I hope you like it too. The song I've uploaded was the first Erik de Vahl track I downloaded and it's still my favorite. Enjoy.
