Well it finally came out. I loved The Pipettes first EP that was on iTunes. Lots of fun. I have reservations about this album. It's not bad but it didn't deliver like I thought it would. The Pipettes are sort of a 60's girl group revival band. Much like The Delmonas were only not as awesome. The album is very well produced. The songs aren't bad. There's something missing for me though. I still love the song "Dirty Mind" but it sounds like they reworked it for the album slightly. If you a big fan of girl group music then this I think will be up your alley. There are some great songs here. I've been putting ones from the EP on my mix cd's. I was hoping for so much more though. I keep thinking of Spice Girls when I listen to the album. I don't know The Pipettes backstory but I'm hoping this isn't some record producers pet project to make a super group. I'll just have to wait and see how it goes. Any thoughts?

My girlfreind has the Girl Group box set that Rhino put out, it's 4 CDs of awesome. Highly Recomended.

I have a friend who's been trying to tell me how great they are for a while now, but I can't help but be very unimpressed, just because someone's dressed in retro clothing doesnt mean they're not just hipster spice girls, I hope that didn't sound horribly mean because I do like a few of their songs, and I think their gimmicky performances are attention-grabbing, it's just nothing new.

yeah, i'm a sucker for indie pop, even this kind of crazy twee, overly happy stuff, so yes, i'm a pipettes lover, i have all their import singles, etc...can;t wait for a tour here in the states

I like them but I'm not so sure. I love the Dirty Mind track and a couple of others. I'll check out The Carrots. Thanks Bawston. I've heard that Girl Group box. It's really great. There's just something about this Pipettes album though. I liked their singles but I don't know. Maybe I'm just crazy and need to just accept this new band wagon.
