Following my Kinky post I wanted to also point out the excellent Mexican group known as the "Nortec Collective":http://www.allmusic.com/cg/amg.dll?p=amg&sql=11:9t5g8qf9btb4~T1. The group is mainly comprised of Tijuana artists Bostich, Clorofila, Fussible, Hiperboreal, Panoptica, Terrestre, and Plankton Man. The music is a combination of traditional Mexican music from the Norteno and Banda regions and electronic dance music. They've put out two collections of this music called "The Tijuana Sessions, Vol 1." and The Tijuana Sessions, Vol 3.". It's really hard hitting dance music with strong latin flavor. A blend of horns and drums that is very unique to these artists and the area. I highly recommend either album. Here's the video for the track "Tijuana Makes Me Happy":http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tijuana_Makes_Me_Happy composed by Pepe Mogt of Bostich/Fussible. It was written for the movie of the same name and has been used on the video game "2006 Fifa World Cup":http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2006_FIFA_World_Cup.
