I know this has been written about on Mog but I really wanted to post some tracks off this album. I posted one the other day on one of my podcast posts. I really loved this album. I read on Negativland's website that this album was written and composed by band member Mark Hosler. I've always enjoyed when Negativland made a "song" that resembled a song. This is a whole album of it! Pretty great stuff. The lyrics are wacky, lots of noise, accoustic sounds, samples, and pluderphonic sounds galore. I loved it. There's even (I would say) a couple of love songs. Overall I think everyone should have a copy (cue end of Reading Rainbow book review sound).

Negativeland rules!
"uh oh...Sam's discovered the joy of simple, unadorned pop music. we're certainly in for it now!"
Well, that's what I wanted to say - but instead I'll merely observe that, aside from the subject matter of the title striking your heartstrings pretty soundly, a song that resembles a song may surprisingly be just that - and I'll enjoy along with you. (there's absolutely no negative in it, is there??)
nosirree Scott. It's relatively negative free. Maybe a tad bit happily mutated but the album is not a downer. I like some pop music. Just not really anything from the 90's and today.
Nutso! (But canny - as ever from the Negs...)
