More house/electro goodness. This time from Riva Starr. He's from the UK and that's about all I know about him. He's put out 5 12"'s and done quite a bit of remix work in the last couple of years. No albums yet. He's got a new EP coming out soon. You can check out his MySpace HERE. I also found a podcast that he has a mix on. You can find that at this SITE. I really enjoyed this 4 song EP. I liked all the songs. Not sure which ones are better than the others so I'm posting the first two tracks. Top notch stuff. His tracks tend to involve a lot of building but its worth the wait because once break drops all hello busts loose. Looking forward to hearing more from this guy. Looks like you can get his music on Emusic and Beatport. Check him out yo.

"Grunnng!" Lovin' those growly synth-voices. Almost expect dancing robots to come, pop-n-locking, out of my screen.

dach - it does sound quite excellent on headphones.

MtK - So that's what that robot is saying!  If the robots haven't jumped through try banging on the side of the monitor.  They might have got stuck. :)

yep, dig it!  tunes like this could easily revive the heyday of house in San Francisco.  i was thinking of you when i posted this yesterday:

I don't DJ but if I had a couple of crates of this I might start.  Years ago I really hated house.  I was more of a hardcore breakbeat and trance fan.  I remember telling someone a long time ago that I would like house if they used the house beats but put trance sounds over it.  Took a while but I think my wish came true.

if you told me something had has beats with trance sounds over it, i'd probably run away screaming.  but if you played Riva Star or Fake Blood for me, i'd be dancing and smiling.  that's why i feel weird writing about music.  genres and categories and such mean different things to different people.

all i know is i dig what you post, so keep it comin!

It is hard writing about it.  It would help if I could include mouth noises and vocal inflection.   I'll keep it coming!

Groove-licious, Fisty. I've been feasting on dance/electro/techno podcast mixes to keep me going at my job o' work right now. I plug in and I'm at the virtual rave. The crunchy synth is nice on this.

Mike's comment about the robots gave me a picture of people dressed up as the Rock 'em, Sock 'em Robots, bustin' a move.

Hi there Lady Mortic-Ian! :)  I am now envious.  I had my ipod priveleges revoked recently.  Glad you liked the tunes.  I could deal with a rave right now.
