Fake Blood

Posted over 3 years ago

Not much out there on who Fake Blood is. I think it's one guy and he's from London. This track dropped last June and it seems to be blowing up in clubs in a big way. I've found a lot of new house like this that incorporates a lot of elements of old school rave, electro, and garage. Such a good track. The only other Fake Blood I've heard is what's on their MySpace and remixes that are floating around. There's a lot of remixes of Fake Blood out there too if you look. Thought this would be a good track to get you going this Friday. Enjoy.

    Cody it's definitely twisted.

Charley I hadn't thought of that.  It makes me think of True Blood on the True Blood show.

It's a builder.  It doesn't grab at first but when the breakdown (breakup?) comes in it really starts to cook.  Good to see you too Tyler.  I've been preoccupied lately.

i can't believe it - you beat me to it!  i was going to post Fake Blood tunes today too! I was trying to think of tunes/bands for a "getting into the Halloween spirit" post and he topped the list.  your taste in electronic music never fails to astound and inspire, F-Spume!  Of course I'll post something anyway, something different....

as for the man behind the Blood, he is indeed an elusive creature.  (Mystery seems very fashionable these days for UK-based electronic heads)

    here's what we know:

He calls himself Sang (which is still blood when you translate it!!)  Sang Foley.

He's on The Count & Sinden's label, Cheap Thrills (Count and Sinden also make rubbery bass tunes for dancing).

He's not Boy 8-Bit or Burial or Tiesto (though the last one might still be unconfirmed...)

    He makes incredible music!

    And, cool trivia:

Everytime you hear someone say "Fake Blood" in one of his remixes, he actually chopped up the vocal part in the original song to make them say that.  It's not from other sources or samples and he didn't convince the bands to say those words.

His story, like his music, is fun and complex at the same time.  We may never know the true source of his Sang-Fu...

mollifire I'm proud to scoop ya!  I like to daydream that Fake Blood is Mylo or someone as such.  Thanks for all of your background knowledge.  And, wow that is cool trivia.  I don't know what happened but last week I went on a house finding mission.  I'm pretty sure I suceeded.  I got a boat load of cool house.

Poe I always come back with a vengence.  It's my style.  I got myself wanting some old school rave as well.  The funny part is that despite being so available in the early 90's it's all pretty hard to find.

    Mike who indeed!

"The funny part is that despite being so available in the early 90's it's all pretty hard to find." - true dat. songs i don't remember artists of, artists i don't remember songs of, and i can't find many of them. safe to say, with rave it was really all a blur.

No kidding.  I have this one song in my mind all the time.  I don't think I'll ever find it and the guy who had it on CD moved to Germany years ago and I really don't feel like trying to stalk a guy just to try to get him to remeber a hardcore trance song he had on one of hundreds of cd's.  it will torture me forever.

Tonight we've got Drop the Lime, one of only 4 UK shows!!! It's our mission to have all of Machines Don't Care play for us... Only Affie Yusuf, Detboi and Toddla T left to go...

    Dude - good song. Well-found.

Have we talked about Max Tundra? You should read my latest review and then get your hands on this album ASAP! It's got your name on it.

M6DLY - You are one lucky individual.  I can only be content with hearing them on my stereo.  Sounds like an awesome line up of artists.  I'd love to see Drop the Lime.

Spencer - I'll have to check it out.  Not sure if I have any Max Tundra or not but your review has convinced me to seek that album out.  Sounds awesome.  10 out of 10 no less!  Mersenne is making me want to move to Istanbul.  He sees everyone there.
