Tea

I think I've got a man crush on Hideki Kaji. His albums are just so refreshing and well produced. I've been listening to his 1998 album ??Tea?? a whole lot lately, particularly the song "Made In Sweden". I have an instrumental of the song that I think is absolutely top notch. I had no idea there was a vocal version until I got this album. I stuck it on a mix recently and cannot get enough of it. This album has a very Swedish sound to it and after much research I found out why. Swedish tweepop band Eggstone play on a lot of the tracks, as well as Cardigans and Franz Ferdinand producer Tore Johansson. Drummer and solo artist Rasmus Kihlberg contributes. He's got this cool site where if you send him a song he'll put drums on it. That's "HERE":http://www.livedrumsonweb.com/. There are also some supporting Cardigans musicians that contribute. They are Ulf Thuresson, Jens Lindgård, and Petter Lindgård. The final artist is Måns Block who has a few solo albums and is in the Swedish latin soul group "A Bossa Elétrica":http://www.myspace.com/abossaeletrica. They sound really cool. It's a pretty Sweden-centric album and I love it. There are some Japanses artists on two tracks. Those include Yoshie, Hirohisa Horie, and Yasunobu Arakawa. If only I knew what Hideki was singing I'd be set. I figure eventually I'll learn Japanese by osmosis. This album is really smooth and freakin sweet. Check it out if you get the chance.
