I figured I should post this album after my Disney post this morning. Readymade Digs Disney is pretty much a Pizzicato Five album of covers of Disney songs. They're everything you would expect from Konishi Yasuharu. It's wild, crazy, and happy beyond all repair. The Japanese really love Disney. Their treatment to the "Mickey Mouse Club March" is as insanely happy as a song can get. It makes me think of what's going on inside a kids mind while at the MM Club but everything is on fast forward and covered in sugar and meth. There's a pretty slick tech-step version of that one song from Mary Poppins. I'm not going to bother spelling it. The Winnie the Pooh theme is a lovely vocalless breezy outdoor jazz in Paris kind of cover. I like how they mix up the US version with the Japanese version of "It's a Small World". Now you can get it stuck in your head in a whole new way. This album came out in 2003. They have released two more albums like this but they're quite different. The second is a collection of original rare Disney jazz and the third seems to be all rare Disney sunshine pop/rock songs. I'm looking forward to getting those as well. This is pretty fun for a P5 album even though the subject can be hard for some to swallow.

but this cover made me laugh a lot. it's like a DDR song for kids.

I went to Disney World in '84 and had a blast. I was 8 years old then. I got a lot of pictures from it. I loved Small World, Peter Pan, Swiss Family tree house, Pirates of the Caribbean, Haunted Mansion... I liked pretty much all of it. My dad and brother almost made me throw up on the Tea Party and I screamed like baby in line for the Space Mountain ride. That wasn't so fun. I got freaked out when I saw multiple Mickey's and repeating dwarfs. Overall it was a blast. Except for Epcot. Boorring! Probably would like it now though. Small World would work for DDR. That Mickey Mouse Club song would be difficult though.

Awesome stuff. There are tons of compilations with unique takes on Disney stuff. I posted stuff from the Breaks & Beats Disney collection a while back and I know one collection, the Disney Bossa Nova one, is actually available in America.

Thanks. It's a pretty sweet axolotl. I break him out every once in a while. Holy crap that M'Lumbo track is awesome! Thanks for posting it. I totally forgot about them. I still need an album by them. Only have a smattering of tracks.
