Consider My Fire Lit!

Posted about 1 year ago
Holey hell after months of looking I finally found the object of my obsession. I got the first album by Moebius. Not to be confused by the German Prog/Electronic guy. This is something different but I really love it. This is totally going on some mix cd's. I don't know that much about this band except that I love their version of "Light My Fire". If it's still up check it out on one of my new favorite blogs http://mutant-sounds.blogspot.com/2008/02/moebius-stlp1979usa.html.I love it when a conquest is finally over. Phew!

  4. Bartleby says There is something about Germany which makes this country so rich in prog and electronic music in general. A bit mental but highly pleasurable. Thanks for the link, Fistie.

  5. fistula spume says It's got that certain "I don't know what" quality to it August. It must be something in their water or the beer Bartleby. Glad you enjoyed it.

  6. poebegone says yay to things getting found. 100% Devo and shades of '70s space pop. give it up for Jim Morri on the dancefloor! unsurprisingly i am now reminded of Jean Giraud and his Moebius comixes of course. missing the few crates i left back home...

  7. fistula spume says Love Moebius the artist so much. I used to have tons of collections of his comics. His work is just so mind blowing. My first exposure had to have been from his designs for Tron. Loved that movie. Moebius rules!

  8. poebegone says hey, it just occured to me that your art is a bit Moebiusey. and a bit Heavy Metalley. you should totally consider an online gallery/shop, Sam. i'll need my orders signed by the artist, of course. (;

  9. fistula spume says I would kill to be able to draw like Moebius. Kill. Loved Heavy Metal. I used to have tons of those but I haven't seen one in years. Those and old French Metal Hurlant issues are the shiznit. I am going to try to work on getting an online shop and produce some prints. I have a friend that is going to make me a small run of ilttle prints this week and we're going to see if we can set up an online store. I've been getting a lot of requests so I figure I should just do it. I'll definitely announce it when it happens.

  10. poebegone says just do it. best of luck on that. first time i laid eyes on a Moebius, i was still actively making comic books, i must've drooled and thought "i never could". yeah, haven't seen a Metal Hurlant in like forever. and like my kid bro took any comix i had left (nothing valuable altho i would've wanted to hold on to the Negative Burn ones). hey, nice talking comix with ya. (;
