WHERE THE HOKEY POKEY "IS" WHAT IT'S ALL ABOUT

Sky Saxon

Posted 4 months ago

He died today. Thought I would post some tracks. You can read about him on Wikipedia HERE. At times I think he sounds more like a cross between Reg Presley (Troggs) and Dylan than what the Wiki says. Whatever. Rest comfortably Sky Saxon. You and the Seeds made some good tunes.

Never heard of this guy until someone on FB mentioned it earlier.  It is just one of those days, isn't it?  Between this, Ed McMahon, MJ, Farrah, and our lovely SC governor, this has been a crazy-ass week.

The Seeds were one of those great Sixties garage bands. Punk before there was punk. I saw them play the Civic Auditorium in San Francisco, end of 1966, opening for the Beach Boys. Also on the bill: the Sopwith Camel, the Music Machine and the Jefferson Airplane. That was my first rock show.

oh and Andy Hughes of The Orb died a couple days ago.  This week is deadly.  Everyone be careful!  Mike that is a pretty righteous first concert experience.  I can't remember mine but I'm pretty sure it pales in comparison.
