Well it's that time again! I've made it through yet another year on Mog. What a magical and strange wonderland this place is. Probably not a lot of people think of things like this but I like anniversaries and birthdays. Good ones that is. What a year it has been. Filled with ups and downs. I think my posts for half the time have been filled with me posting about my new podcast, The Best Cuts of Music. Me and my cohost, Robe Flax, spend a lot of time on it and have a lot of fun with it. It's yet another fun way for me to share songs with people. There's this great comic called True Swamp by Jon Lewis where the animals "trade" the names of locations from around the world as a sort of currency. For instance the frog might say to another animal "Paris" and that animal would react by imagining what that place is like. For me that's what sharing music with people is like. It's passing on a moment or experience to others, and even though they don't have the same reaction it causes them to think or feel something in a new and unique way. I've met a lot of cool people here on Mog and still keep in contact with some who don't even participate that much anymore, if at all. On the music front I think I've bought more music this year than ever. Something about wanting to find music for my show, my Mog, and other places I think have really pushed that. That and my insatiable lust to find new and interesting music. I was really stoked about getting the whole Cafe Apres-Midi series this year. Getting all of those felt like finishing an amazing book. The weird thing is that there always seems to be something awesome to find. I had hoped to share more great music this year on Mog but I've been busier than ever in '09. It's been a strange ride this year and I hope all are doing well with your bad selves. Here's to another year! I'm really happy for all of you who have checked out the show and who still read my posts. I'd keep finding music without Mog but it's really great to have this place to discuss it with you.

I've been enjoying the heck out of The Best Cuts of Music. The conversation with God almost made me spit coffee onto my keyboard. I've got to say I'm totally jealous about he Cafe Apres collection. I'm several discs behind you on that one, but someday...someday!

Many happy returns on your third. Herr Spume. You're the reason I stuck with MOG. It seemed clear that anyplace that regarded your adventurous ears and general enthusiasm had to be a great place. As has turned out to be the case. And ooh, the GTOs.....

Thanks everyone for the well wishes and everything. It's been a topsy turvy year for sure. I appreciate all who are listening to the show. It's certainly been a very emotional year since my wife's mother passed away. My wife is good. She has her bad days and good days. I'm just glad I've got her.

heww doggy! happy 3 year! i always find it amazing how much music you have. whenever i open a best cuts post, i scan the playlist and am like 'ya i know none of those...' im scared of what your hard drive looks like.

I said it already and I'll say it again: Happy Mog-a-versary. I'll try to better myself and post a bit in the forthcoming days. But it's even hard to keep up with your Best Cuts series - youre output is not a small one, man.
Just came back from Italy. I had to think a lot of you on your scooter - you know there are thousands of them in Italy, at times going completely crazy. Keep the good work up.
Thanks again Hermes. Well my show was a bit late this week but the output is quite mighty. I've discovered a lot thanks to the show. I'd love to be in a land of many scooters. I love riding mine all the time. More and more a lot people have them here in my town but it's definitely not the same as Italy. Thanks!

I've been slow on the art front this last year. I've really only got one picture I've worked on this year. Still not done. It's pretty crazy. At some point I hope to finish it and then start on a series of some sort. Who knows! Thanks for the well wishes darmuzz!
