After having on a to buy list for 7 years I finally got an album by Finnish electronic duo Mr. Velcro Fastener. The name alone sold me back then. This album came out in 2006. They have an electro/trance kind of sound with a dash of electro-clash. This album really reminds me of Spacetime Continuum and a little bit Plaid. My expectations were not let down. I've read that they're really great live. There's a ton of YouTube videos of that. On Discogs it says "Recorded & mixed at Safari-Studio, Turku Finland 2003-2005. Safari Studio runs on ecological wind energy." Listening to this album is eco-friendly. This year they also re-released _Telemacho_ as a 10th anniversary collection. It has this disc with bonus mixes plus a greatest hits compilation. I wanted to post a couple of tracks and also the video for Capek. I think it's the best song on the album. FYI the video could be a little NSFW. It's a hairy guy in his underwear dancing with no shame whatsoever. Makes me think of Pants Off Dance Off. Enjoy.

Hey Garrick! Long time no see. I thought I killed you in the last great Mog Wars. Glad your enjoying my electronic explorations.
Max Load I take lots of notes and am a fearless music explorer. :)

hey brother
Maybe late but sincerely
Merry Christmas
Happy New Year
best of luck to you and many many thanks for all the music you shared with us. I didn't write those comments that used to cross my mind while listening, they were all positive ones and it goes without saying with me.

Wtf? A hairy guy? What would you consider hairy Sam? That guy is far, far from it(as well as far, far from many other things, heh). Liking the music though. Great atmospherics on the 2nd song.

As usual, Fistula you're a real purveyor of tasty loops and grooves. I like the "eco-friendly" part even though I'm pretty sure my electricity comes from a not-so-environmentally-friendly plant ;)
Turku is a very nice medieval city, renowned for her academic excellence (check out the university). It is also know of the other "Christmas Town" (with Bethlehem) - Recommended by yours truly

Thanks I am taking a break before re-mixing the last of the 6 songs I've been working on. Everything I've read told me to take breaks. So here I am. This is about as far away from the song I am about to mix. Good thing that!

nataja happy new years and holidays to you as well!
AA Coppertop it's pretty fun if you play Fraggle Rock theme with it too.
August - I'm pretty much hairless so anything with hair seems hairy to me.
Chucky I'm sorry. Your new eyes are in the mail.
Mike I think I picked the two most Kraftwerkian songs off of the album.
Barbleby I'm pretty sure my house isn't eco friendly either. That's a cool picture of Turku. Didn't know that info about it. Thx!
Doombilly I'm glad I could provide some mental floss to help you with your work.

I hadn't heard of this band, what a funny name! (Likely because their genre isn't my thing.) Turku has a nice old castle and the old parts of town with wood buildings that have been preserved and now serve as museum, craftshop, etc. space (where the picture is form) have certain quaint charm. My cousin lives there and I gave a talk at the university just a few months ago.

Wow. Going to have to look it up online. There seems to be a pretty healthy electronic music scene that's there. How cool that you've got to visit Turku. Sounds like a cool place. I never heard of it until I did some research for this album.

Well, I'm a Finn, and Turku is barely two hours west of Helsinki, where I grew up, so I guess it carries no particular coolness factor for me. But yeah, there's a healthy music scene generally there, also in indie and garage rock.
