Track:Gigantor Says Anything

I'm going to start off by saying this album is the coolest. It came out last year by MC Esoteric. He's one half of Boston's hip-hop duo 7L & Esoteric (7LES). MC Esoteric has a rather healthy obsession with Japanese culture. Like me, he seems to have seen a ton of Japanese imported cartoons as a kid. This album features some really dope rhymes about pop culture, calling people out, his love of dogs, cutting people down with his rhymes, his stance on America, and all manner of other fun and goofy topics. This album is a little goofy. His track "Plastic Model Version" (which I posted yesterday) makes me laugh like an idiot. He juxtaposes all of this with samples of Japanese Sci-Fi, how to speak Japanese tapes, Voltron, Gaiking, Force 5, Star Blazers, Gigantor, Godzilla, Shogun Warriors, Rodan, and all sorts of esoteric Japanese ephemera. This album is a fun ride from beginning to end. It's almost hard to take tracks out of context from the album. I've played this for a week and a half solid now without skipping tracks. The album seems a bit home grown and lo-fi but that doesn't hinder it whatsoever. It's great! It's a roller coaster ride. Check it out yo or Gigantor will come to your house and stomp on your head.

Rhymes are highly accomplished, music sublime. Hittig on absolutely all cylinders. Thanks much for this, Fisty....
It hit all my cylinders too. I'm only running on two lately so it was a bit overwhelming. Glad you enjoyed it Ivy.
this guy is somewhat new to me, but I pick up his stuff whenever I get the chance
He apparently did a whole bootleg of him rapping over Gary Newman music. I'd like to hear that too. This album was teh best though.
I would love to hear that bootleg.......that sounds like it would be incredible
4 realz. I'm going to have to find it at some point.
Yup, great album.
He reminds me of the man behind the mask..nice.
Uffin - you're avatar has rendered me speechless.
Cody - I'm not sure of this mystery man you speak of.
