WHERE MUSIC LISTENS TO YOU

Lovebeat

Posted about 2 years ago
This was Yoshinori Sunahara's last album. It came out in '01 in Japan and '02 in Germany. This album is much different than his previous works. It's more cold and electric. Like Yoshinori went to the year 2170 and then returned and released his future man concept album. A good deal of the lounge aspects of his work have been surgically removed and replaced with robot parts. I liked it. Here's some tracks from that album plus a video.

  3. mickimicki says This is fantastic! I don't even feel it's cold, kinda warm, even. Maybe that's because of my kraut genes... it's obvious why this was released over here, too;) Super duper find. I'll have to learn that name!

  4. fistula spume says It is kind of warm. I think that's why it's called Lovebeat. It's like watching blood move through artificial veins in a robot/human hybrid. Compared to his earlier albums though it's colder than those. Or maybe this one is more womb like. Not cold in there. Yup. I'm going to say this one is more womb like. He is hugely informed creatively by Yellow Magic Orchestra and Kraftwerk which I think shows up more in this album than any.
