This came out in 1998 on Twisted Records. I wanted to bring it up in case you missed it. One of my most favorite electronic albums (of which there are many). When this came out it was a giant hit with techno heads everywhere. The last track was conceived after Simon Posford and Raja Jam witnessed an eclipse in India while on halucinogens. They went back to England and tried to recreate the experience. The whole album is sort of centered around that theme. They put out one of the best tribal/ambient/goa/trance albums ever. Even for being close to 10 years old this album is still so fresh. They don't make em like this anymore. If your wanting to explore some techno I say pick up this album up.

18! 18 reviews in a day (even if they were short). A new Mog record I think. I am so jealous of the time you have to listen to music. I really need to have a job where I take the train to work and I can buy an iPod and just listen to music on the ride there and back. Pull me back, I'm falling into a daydream....

Lol... I can't help it, but the name of this band makes me think of Sponge Bob Squarepants... He's the one idol I share with my son... or, one of them...
The music sounds kinda spongy too... and very absorbing... Good thing I was already burning incense. Perfect music for my modern hippie setup. I also witnessed an eclipse over here in 2000... unfortunately I was pregnant and couldn't use chemical enhancers... was still impressive enough. All the birds were suddenly quiet...
----so, thanks for bringing them up!

contra I'm going for 20 today. and if my wife won't get mad 1 more than that. I get to listen to headphones at work all day long so I squeeze in tons of listening throughout the week.
micki I can see the spongebob connection. I too am a fan of all things at Bikini Bottom. Is Spongebob in German there? He was in Gaelic when I was in Ireland and I thought it was even funnier. Haven't seen an eclipse since I was a kid but it was a big deal as I remember. Glad you like the brought up!
mickimicki says
Wow, SpongeBob in Gaelic sounds awesome! I've seen it in German, English, Portuguese and Spanish so far. Gotta say, the German speakers were chosen with care. Here's a sample

That's crazy awesome. Gave me goosebumps. The world of Bikini Bottom never sounded so good. Plankton and Spongebob sound great. Thanks for posting. I can't believe I sat and listened to the whole thing in German. It was still funny.

Lol... Sammy-boy, you _are_ cracking me up! Glad I ripped my son's CD then :-)
What I love most most most about Spongey is near the end of the title song in each episode, when he plays flute with his nose. Don't know why, but I wait for that second every time...

When I was in Northern Italy when I was fifteen I remember watching "Alf" and "Fast Times at Ridgemont High" in German. It was magical, and much better than taking LSD ever was.
mickimicki says
LOL... seems German sounds awfully funny to speakers of English (except when they actually ARE English... then they hate it because of too many WW II memories (or, films)....
How come you were watching in German while in Italy? Was it satellite? Or do they broadcast it for the Tyrolians (I guess it's not well known in the world that Italy has a considerable German-speaking "minority"...)
contrabandwidth says
Yeah in Northern Italy (way up North) the towns have both Italian and German names, and the food has a bavarian influence. It's beautiful.
The irony of your first statement is that actors playing German Nazi's in Hollywood movies always speak with very English accents, and most German's or other Europeans always speak the Queen's English ("Trouser's" instead of "pants") - and they usually speak it very well (better than we do in most cases).
Anything that is truly American that get's translated into another language and I see it, is always euphoric to me! I love re-interpretation of cultures, it makes me giddy.

Somebody brought me some blockbuster DVDs from China... they cost something like 20 Cents over there, and yeah, the Chinese overdubs are wonderous. (There's even different varieties on each DVD, Cantonese etc..)

Fistula, you're not a music addict. You're a music athlete. As Contra said, you must have established a record of reviews in a day.
Expressing one's impression in terms of like or dislike seems a bit limited. From now on, I'll only use the concept of continuous passion for your MOG. You've got a true dedication to music. For that I salute you.
- Assiduous passion -

Thanks Bartleby. That's a big compliment. You could say I'm an athlete. I listen to music constantly. Just emptied the contents of my iPod so I need to fill it back up so I can review more. I gotta hear it all.
