The first rule of Slagsmalsklubben is no one talks about Slagsmalsklubben. That has to be true cause I just heard this 2004 album and I can't believe I've never heard of them before. Slagsmalsklubben is a Swedish electropop/bitpop/chip tune group. Their name means "The Fight Club". They have 3 albums out now. This is their second one. The album title is Swedish for "The Saga of the King's Annual Income" which is a pun for the Swedish title for "The Return of The King". The album is incredibly bright and playful. It paints a very upbeat and cartoonish picture. The band reminds me of Plone but also have a Japanese Picopop kind of feel to them. From start to finish it's really a treat. The last song "His Morning Promenade" is IMHO one of the coolest songs I've heard in a while. I've played it about 200 times in the last week. I just keep hitting the back button after it's finished. The title helps to paint a nice picture of the song. Now that I know about Slagsmalsklubben I really shouldn't be saying anything about it but I think it's worth the risk. You gotta check these guys out.

It's the best of both worlds! I went on an electropop/glitchpop/synthpop/indietronica binge the last couple of weeks. Got some great stuff but this was the standout for me. Glad you liked it!

dizam. it sounds like some of randoms stuff, but more meaty. something tells me i dont want to party with them.
