WHERE MUSIC LISTENS TO YOU

Cityrama

Posted over 2 years ago
I wanted to post something but I didn't think I had any cd's handy. Lo and behold I have Yukari Fresh's _Cityrama_ tucked away in my backpack. I've already reviewed _Erik_ and _New Years Fresh_ "here":http://mog.com/fistula_spume/blog_post/113430 and "here":http://mog.com/fistula_spume/blog_post/113420. _Cityrama_ came out in 2000 in between those two albums. I absolutely love Yukari Fresh. This album is a combination of remixes, cover songs, and Yukari working with others to make different takes. Really fun album. It's nice to hear her music reworked like this. It's like they put a cute little hamster in a blender and poured out an even cuter hamster. Sounds impossible but it works! Hope you enjoy the tracks.

  4. mickimicki says Oh my god. Berliner Weisse is a lovely drink btw. It's a weird light beer with syrup... either green (woodruff syrup), or red (raspberry syrup). It's lovely in summer. I SO wish Crash could have heard this! And had some wunderbare Berliner Weisse mit Schuss... I hope they serve it in heaven :( (Oops... ) - Great tune, great band that I don't know. Good thing you're over there in the US teaching me about my city :)

  5. fistula spume says I was wondering what Berliner Weisse was. I guess I could've googled it. Sounds fun. I do love me some beer. Glad you like it micki. I think the band that's playing the cover version of this Yukari song is called The Pop Tarts. Your city is more fun to learn about! Nothing fun in Fayetteville Arkansas. August glad I could convert. I'm running out of cd's by her that I own. I think I have one other album. I need her newer stuff. Japanese albums are so hard to come by. I figured I would wear someone down.

  7. Augusts1 says I just looked them up on Amazon.com & it's not available, which is unusual that they don't have it. Could you upload this to M when you get the time(no hurry)?

  8. fistula spume says Sure. I'll have to do it tomorrow. It's import only so it's hard to find. I had a Japanese friend that got me a lot of this kind of stuff.

  11. fistula spume says Cool. Glad I inspired you to track her down. I think she's pretty neat. I got "Cook Some Dishes" but I haven't found "Yukari's Perfect" yet. A lot of those are on "New Years Fresh". I want to track down "Trefoils Hat" and her electro clash album under the moniker Yukari Rotten.
