Track:(Get Ready) For the Power of Disco [Respectful Edit]

Respect was a club in Paris that opened it's doors in October of 1996. This compilation is like a night at the club. It starts off modestly, it builds, it breaks, it builds again, holds it, and breaks, then slows down. It's capped off by a really mellow DJ Cam track. Artists include Bob Sinclair, Motorbass, Dimitri from Paris, Etienne De Crecy, Atjazz, DJ Cam and others. It's really a tasty treat of an album. Technically it's not a Source album but was released by Virgin France. I found it nice to wash dishes to and nice to bop around in the car to. If the pictures on the inside and outside of the booklet are any indication I clearly missed one hell of a party. Artists who played there is a who's who list of French House DJ's as well as others from around the world. This comp and the last one I reviewed remind me there's still so much more Dimitri from Paris I need to hear. The song above, I thought, was the cat's meow.

I've always been partial to Dimitri's "A Very Stylish Girl" from the Sacrebleu album. But then again, I am a very stylish boy.
I think that is an understatement dear sir. You're a renaissance boy! I am very partial to that song too. I would like to hear the other versions of it. The album had 3 or 4 different releases. I would like to get the 2 cd Japanese version of the album. I think the reason for other versions was there were troubles getting clearances for the samples.
Yeah, that alnum disappeared of US shelves pretty quick..and it was doing bang up biz for a dance record..always had a warm spot for dimitri's franco-funk style. Diggin' this el fisto suave.
He warms the cockles of my heart too. Especially on these cold snowy days.
Whoa..3 typos in about 8 words..cold must be gettin' to my fingers.
I knew what you meant. :)
That reminds me of Sylvester at his peak. Must go and rummage for my mirror ball and then play it again.
Make sure you use glass cleaner on it. A dirty disco ball is a sad disco ball. Love Sylvester. I like knowing that I make him feel mighty real.
I have these CDs in storage back in NY. I'm going to have to get these shipped out!
